Parental Notification Policy
Huge Victory for Parents
Last week, a Federal Judge blocked the Escondido Parental Exclusion Policy. Judge Roger Benitez ordered that schools CANNOT force teachers to lie to parents.
Any school district or state agency/official that enforces these policies going forward does so at their own risk and at major taxpayer expense. We have about 850 hours in the Mirabelli v Olson case and the latest rate the State was ordered to pay our firm was over $1,200/hr.

Support Parental Rights at Schools
In my research, I found this precious website, Coalition for Parental Rights. They are the group instrumental for creating the Parental Notification Policy via AB 1314, first adopted by Chino. In the resources is a Parental Notification Policy Action Tool Kit which contain a wealth of information about how to proceed if your school district is overstepping.
Since Chino, 5 Other Schools Have Also Passed Parental Notification Policies
Chino Valley Unified was the first school to pass a Parental Notification Policy.
Since then, 5 other schools (total of 6!) have also gone the same way.
Murrieta Valley Unified School District also adopted a Murrieta Valley Unified Parental Notification Policy on August 10, 2023.
Temecula Valley Unified passed a Temecula Valley Unified Parental Notification Policy on August 22, 2023.
Anderson Union High School District passed a Anderson Union Parental Notification Policy on August 22, 2023.
Rocklin Unified School District passed Rocklin Parental Notification Policy on September 6, 2023.
Orange Unified passed a Parental Notification Policy on September 7, 2023.
What if Your School Does Not Support Parents Rights?
Homeschool. However, not everyone has the ability to do this.
Recently, Court Ruled Parents Should Not Have to Be Forced to Homeschool
Indeed, recently, a Federal Judge, in an Order blocking a “Parental Exclusion Policy”, wisely noted:
“Parental involvement is essential to the healthy maturation of schoolchildren. The Escondido Union School District has adopted a policy without parent input that places a communication barrier between parents and teachers.
Some parents who do not want such barriers may have the wherewithal to place their children in private schools or homeschool, or to move to a different public school district.
Families in middle or lower socio-economic circumstances have no such options. For these parents, the new policy appears to undermine their own constitutional rights while it conflicts with knowledgeable medical opinion. An order enjoining the new district policy is in the better interests of the entire community, as well as the plaintiff teachers.”
Always pray!
Keep your children close and raise them in the way of the Lord. I pray that all of your children will seek the Lord and His ways of righteousness. That they will never be deceived or harmed and the Lord will put a hedge of protection around your family.
“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 1and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light.” Ephesians 5.
