Brangelina Divorce DCFS
In a nutshell, “something” happened on the plane, and “someone” called in the Department of Child and Family Services, and suddenly Angie filed for divorce, and DCFS started an abuse investigation on the family. (or just Brad – we don’t know).
What exactly is abuse? It’s defined here on the DCFS website, and yes, it can definitely be VERBAL abuse, if pattern and damages occur.
In the meantime, the kids are to live with Jolie, with therapeutic visits with Brad. While we all wait for DCFS to clear the charges, what should Brad do? Well, they allegedly reached a temporary agreement.
While DCFS charges are pending, most family courts are reluctant to issue any orders. So, even if Brad files a Request for Order , it would be pretty futile while the investigation is pending. So, he basically must fully cooperate with DCFS and whatever their allegations are.
Once DCFS clears him, he will absolutely have more bargaining power. His team should then request more time, and if Angelina is gatekeeping, file an RFO. To read more about gatekeeping, see my blog post here. Gatekeeping is horrible for kids, and Courts frown upon this.
