He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.

He is not here, He is Risen, Just Like He Said

He is not here; he has risen, just as he said

Risen From the Dead

Ever since I decided to follow Jesus publicly, I have witnessed miracles – hearts unfolding like flowers before Him.

Last year, one of my clients (in his 60’s) and I were discussing Jesus’s resurrection while I was looking through his Preliminary Declarations of Disclosures.  Though he often heard the story told in Sunday School and in church, the truth was hidden.

Then, in the middle of analyzing the character of his pre-marital stock options, he asked me:

Have you ever stopped to think how INCREDIBLE this story is?  That He rose from the DEAD?

Shortly thereafter, he emailed me to say that he was reconciling with his wife.  I dismissed his divorce.

He is Risen Indeed

The joy of Easter Sunday is contained in Matthew 28:6:

He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.

3 days before, on Good Friday, approximately 2,000 years ago, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ died on the cross.

Easter Sunday had not yet arrived, and his disciples were mourning.  They had just lost their friend an leader.  And they lost all hope.  They thought: He was NOT who He said He was.

Jesus Changed the World

Jesus’ ministry was only 3 years on this earth, yet, his influence was great.

Per Allie Stuckey:

unlike the others, Jesus’s existence, death, burial, and the eye-witness accounts of his resurrection completely rerouted the course of history.  We still count time by his birth.  The anthology that contains the account of his life is the most widely circulated book in history.  Whether one accepts or rejects the Bible as true or divinely inspired, that the faith Jesus ignited radically changed the world forever is undeniable. It can hardly be enumerated the human rights advances that have their source in Christianity. Every foundational idea in Western civilization is inextricably intertwined with Christian doctrine; not even the most ardent atheist can escape it.

Back to Good Friday

To His apostles, his death destroyed all hope.

But Easter was coming.

What does this mean?

Everything!  It means everything.  If He can conquer death, do you know what He can do for you and your marriage?

There is evidence of Jesus’s death and resurrection.  Eye witnesses – more than 500! (1 Corinthians 15: 3-8).   I encourage you to go and seek evidence!

Open your eyes and ears!  This is reality.

Truth of the Gospel

We were ALL once non-believers.  I admit, it is difficult to believe that God walked among us, and that his plan of salvation arrived in the form of a baby.

Save us from what!??!  But we don’t need a Savior!

That’s what I thought once.  I, too, had lost my way.  Worldly success blinded me to the truth.

I pray God will show mercy and reveal Himself so you, too, can taste and see that He is good!  I pray that you will want to learn more!

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

I love 1 Corinthians 1

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.  For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”  Where is the wise person?  Where is the teacher of the law?  Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.  Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.

No More Stumbling Blocks

I pray that God will open your heart, eyes and ears so the Holy Spirit can do its miraculous work.

Without it, the gospel will be a stumbling block, and the good news of Jesus will sound like “foolishness”.

Easter Prayer

I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.

I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him.

This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.

Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else — not only in this world but also in the world to come.

Ephesians 1:18-21

Get up, get up, get up! Get up out of that grave!
