God’s Law v Man’s Law

God's law v man's law

God’s Law v Man’s Law

God’s law is perfect.  Man’s law is flawed.  This is why Family Law is so unfair, and doesn’t work.  The law was NEVER intended to govern the separation of family.

Psalm 19:7

“The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.”

God’s Law

God’s law is perfect.  It’s immutable and unchanging – it is the same today, yesterday and forever

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8

God’s law applies in EVERY generation, every culture, regardless of society, culture and individual preference.

God’s law is the golden standard upon which all laws should be drafted.

Man’s Law

Man’s law is flawed.  This is because it is based on human opinions, ideas, and values, which change over time.

Just pick up any magazine, book from the 1960’s.  Or watch movies.  Look at what was acceptable back then versus today.

Look at the way marriage is being interpreted today!  The “Respect for Marriage Act” basically has reduced marriage any one state’s definition of marriage without any parameters.  This means marriages with minors or relatives, plural marriages, time-bound marriages, polygamy, open marriages, platonic marriages, or any other new definition of marriage could be recognized federally.

The bill doesn’t respect God’s definition of marriage at all.

Rather, it is man’s interpretation.  It imposes an unBiblical view of marriage and sexuality on the entire country.

Man’s own personal views have caused family law to become distorted, making it hard for those who wish to adhere to God’s perfect laws to find justice in the system.

Because trends change by the Tiktok, you cannot build a legal system based on MAN that is consistent and fair.

Family Law is Man’s Law

Family law is man’s law.  It governs what happens when a family breaks up.  Family law sets out the rules and regulations of what happens AFTER divorce, such child custody and visitation, spousal support, child support, and division of assets and debts.

God hates divorce.  Divorce is man-created.  Because man is fallen, man’s laws are also subject to be reversed and changed over time.  That imperfection is manifesting itself in family law, which is becoming increasingly ineffective and unfair.

This is because man’s interpretation of God’s laws are often based on personal choice rather than on what God intended.

In Mark 10: 1-12, Jesus Addresses Divorce

1 Jesus then left that place and went into the region of Judea and across the Jordan. Again crowds of people came to him, and as was his custom, he taught them. 2 Some Pharisees came and tested him by asking, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”

3 “What did Moses command you?” he replied.

4 They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and send her away.”

5 “It was because your hearts were hard that Moses wrote you this law,” Jesus replied. 6 “But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’

7 ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,

8 and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh.

9 Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

10 When they were in the house again, the disciples asked Jesus about this. 11 He answered, “Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. 12 And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery.”

Family Law Arises Because of People’s Personal Choices

Some may say, “But the law is the law.”

Totally untrue.  Community Property, for example, is NOT the law of all 50 states. Community property only exists in 9 states.  Personally, I think community property is completely unfair.

Fortunately, prior to marriage, you can CHANGE the law and waive community property with a premarital agreement (prenuptial agreement, or “prenup”).

Back To Our Roots

At age 7, I moved to this beautiful country (In Chinese, America is “美國” which literally translates to “beautiful country”.

I remember the Pledge of Allegiance, singing the national hymn – the respect for God’s word in a world where God’s love abounded.

Our world has changed.  Our nation is so divided, and it stems from individual beliefs which differ generation by generation.

We need to go back to the living Word, the Bible and consult what God says about every aspect of our lives.

Ancient Paths

This is what the LORD says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, ‘We will not walk in it.’ Jeremiah 6:16

We should strive to create a justice system that considers the full scope of God’s law when making decisions, rather than relying on man’s flawed interpretation of God’s perfect law.

If we can come to a greater understanding and acceptance of the differences between man’s flawed interpretations and God’s perfect law, then we can create a legal system that works for everyone, regardless of their religious beliefs or personal choices.

The law is good if used properly.
