Marriage: It’s Worth Keeping
“Even after all this time the sun never says to the earth, ‘You owe me.’ Look what happens with a love like that. It lights the whole sky.” – Hafez
Stay Together If You Can
After 22 years of handling people’s divorces, I have absolutely no qualms about telling people to stay together. And no, this absolutely does not apply to abusive marriages. Obviously, if you are being physically abused (or mentally abused – although I must say, this word is frequently misused, along with “narcissisim“, “toxic”, “gaslighting”, and other words people casually throw around), you need to seek help beyond a divorce.
This entry is not about that.
Cold Season
I am talking about all the people out there who are suffering a cold season in their marriage. If you think marriage is hard, ask anyone who is divorced. DIVORCE IS HARDER THAN MARRIAGE.
Hang on, the sun will come out. Get counseling. Surround yourself with old people who are stll married. Go to church. Read the Bible.
